MICHAEL ALLEN

Los Angeles - Artist / Projectionist / Creative Editor

Since 1995, Michael has been creating projected environments for bands, art

galleries, and clubs from coast to coast.  He uses 16mm projectors, slides, video projectors, mixers, and VJ software as well as custom screens and found footage from his massive collection of content to build and manipulate visual installations that tantilize the eyes - as well as the mind.

Michael developes ideas and concepts (see link:  THE EYEONASPHERE,

MIND MIDI, etc.), which he uses as his medium - expressing himself creatively through technological innovation.

Other projects include a novel (2007 - see link:  JUNE YUER, AND OUR EARTH WILL OUTSHINE THE SUN),  residencies at popular Hollywood nightclubs, touring, and the performing (VJing) at some of the biggest music and art festivals in the world (see listings below).

Following this brief introduction is an article that Michael was featured in from the LA Times (2003), as well as a list of the equipment used and some of the many clients / job experiences he has had over the years.

EXPERIENCE

THROUGH ART, HUMAN PRAYER BECOMES VISIBLE.  I'M IN WITH THE OUT CROWD, AND IT'S AUDIORABLE.  IT'S JUST HOW IT IS WHEN YOU'RE LIVING AN ABSTRACT LIFE.  THE PSUPERPSYCHEDELICS CAN STRAIN THE BRAIN.  ANTICIPATING A DESTINY OF DOOM...  GET OUT OF MY TOYBOX.  THIS PROJECTICON IS SOME SERIOUSLY ZANY STUFF.  FROM CLOUD 1 TO CLOUD 10 IN AN INSTANT - I DO HAVE HOPE.  I DO HAVE A CEREBRAL YEARNING FOR SOMETHING ELSE...  SOMETHING MUCH BETTER THAN THIS.  TAKIN' TRIPS TO TELEZONIA TO EXPERIENCE A VIRTUE ALL REALITY.  MY EIDETICS ARE FAILING ME.  WE ARE THE QUICK AND THE DEAD.  I'LL TRAVEL BEYOND THE SUN AND GUSH + SIGNS...  I SQUOZE IT.  IT WAS SCICHEDELIC.  SO PLUG IN THE POWERSTRIP!  OUR VISION IS CLOUDED BECAUSE OF THE GRAND MISCONCEPTION OF GOD.

IT'S GOOD TO BE PLEASANTLY DIMENTED.  PLEASE, PRAY FOR MY ART.
