Synchrodelia.com is a portfolio/blog project delevoped by synchrodelic artist/projectionist, Michael Allen (project ion).  This website (in correlation with www.project-ions.com) uses cut-up methods with found content, pictures and videos of Michael's video based installation art and excerpts from his journals, blogs, and writings with music from various sources and paintings and collages to create a synchrodelic experience for the viewer.

The word 'SYNCHRODELIC' is a combination of 3 seperate concepts:  synchronicity, psychedelia, and autotelia.

The following definitions are from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia:

Synchronicity is a concept, first explained by psychiatrist Carl Jung, which holds that events are "meaningful coincidences" if they occur with no causal relationship, yet seem to be meaningfully related.[1] During his career, Jung furnished several slightly different definitions of it.[2]

Jung variously defined synchronicity as an "acausal connecting (togetherness) principle," "meaningful coincidence", and "acausal parallelism."[]

Jung's belief was that, just as events may be connected by causality, they may also be connected by meaning. Events connected by meaning need not have an explanation in terms of causality. This contradicts the Axiom of Causality in specific cases but not generally.

Jung used the concept to try to justify the paranormal.[6]

Psychedelic is a concept - the name of which is derived from the Ancient Greek words psychē (ψυχή, "soul") and dēloun (δηλοῦν, "to make visible, to reveal"), translating to "mind-revealing".

A psychedelic experience is characterized by the striking perception of aspects of one's mind previously unknown, or by the creative exuberance of the mind liberated from its ostensibly ordinary fetters. Psychedelic states are an array of experiences including changes of perception such as hallucinations, synesthesia, altered states of awareness or focused consciousness, variation in thought patterns, trance or hypnotic states, mystical states, and other mind alterations. Autotelic[1] is described as "having a purpose in and not apart from itself".

The word comes from the Greek αὐτοτελής autotelēs from αὐτός autos, "self" and τέλος telos, "goal".

In the book "Flow",  Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi describes people who are internally driven, and as such may exhibit a sense of purpose and curiosity, as autotelic.[2] This determination is an exclusive difference from being externally driven, where things such as comfort, money, power, or fame are the motivating force.

"An autotelic person needs few material possessions and little entertainment, comfort, power, or fame because so much of what he or she does is already rewarding. Because such persons experience flow in work, in family life, when interacting with people, when eating, even when alone with nothing to do, they are less dependent on the external rewards that keep others motivated to go on with a life composed of routines. They are more autonomous and independent because they cannot be as easily manipulated with threats or rewards from the outside. At the same time, they are more involved with everything around them because they are fully immersed in the current of life." [3]

Now in true synchrodelic fashion, I will combine the 3 definitions to make a new word:  'synchrodelia':

Synchrodelia is a concept in which "meaningful coincidences" to "reveal the mind".

The synchrodelic artist uses an "acausal connecting (togetherness) principal" as a means of self-expression.

Synchrodelic art channels the 'currents of life' to stimulate the observer by revealing meaningful ideas using acausal parallelism.

For a more 'synchrodelic' experience, follow the unmarked links.

Every page has several buttons and anchors that will reveal a unique path based on the choices that the viewer makes.  The text on each page comes from various blogs and journals written by Michael Allen.

The white circles are links - your choice of which circle to click (without knowing what will come next) determines your 'click-path'. Depending on your mind's inate ability to 'harmonize' with the pages on this site, you will find your own path.-  The meanings behind the messages you read and the pictures that you see will relate directly to you in your life, right now.

By following your instinctual 'click-path' - you will reveal the message that is naturally drawn to you.

Decipher what you see and read loosely - like one may interpret a dream, or find messages in abstract art or abstract lyrics and poetry.

Read the words and view the pictures on the site like they're there specifically for YOU - in your current state of mind, and in the condition that you're in RIGHT NOW, as you read this site.
